We are pretty excited here at Grangeville’s Award Winning Super 8 Motel!

Recently, our Super 8 Grangeville Idaho “Customer Relations Team” attended the Global Wyndham Hotel Group Annual Convention.  

For those who are not familiar, the Global Wyndam Hotel Group chains include Wyndham Hotels, Wyndham Grand, Wyndham Garden Hotels, Tryp, Wingate, Hawthorn, Microtel, Dream, Planet Hollywood, Ramada, Night, Days Inn, Super 8,  Baymont, Howard Johnson, Travelodge, and Knights Inns.

The Super 8’s brand has what they call their “TOP 8” awards and it goes to the Top 8 Super 8 properties in North America ( US and Canada )!   They are based on Guest reviews and numerical ratings with our housekeeping (surprise inspections) inspection scores for the year.

Our Grangeville Super 8 was awarded the 3rd highest scoring property of the Top 8 in the Brand for the past year.

Super 8 is the largest Economy Chain in the World now (over 2300 properties in North America).

We built this property in 1999 here in knowing we would not be the biggest Super 8 in the chain but we have always strived to be one of the nicest properties in the Brand of almost 2400 properties in North America. Last year we just missed the Top 8 so we were motivated to “step it up” for this round.

This Top 8 Award and our success has come from really one thing and that is our excellent team of  ladies and men, both past and present,  that have chosen to work here.  They have always bought into the idea that CLEAN AND FRIENDLY is our WAY and our only way to please our guests and bring travelers to Grangeville to help support our small town and its residents here. This town is our home.

To date, Grangeville’s Super 8, is the only Super 8 in history to win the Interior and Exterior design awards in the same year.

We also won the Exterior design Award again in 2003 and 2004.

We also earned the honor of  a “Golden Pineapple Award” in 2002 which was awarded to our staff for being really involved in our community. (This particular award has since gone away at Super 8 also)

Super 8 narrowed down the number of awards given when Wyndham bought the brand and now focuses on The Top 8 as their awards program.

Wyndam also has what they call their “Pride of Super 8 Worldwide” designation of which is only given to about the top 10% of the Super 8’s.  And guess what!  Super 8 Motel Grangeville has been a Pride Property every single year since we built this award winning lodging business,  thanks again to our employees and our town!

Without the support businesses here that serve dinners and breakfasts, the grocery stores that bring our groceries each day, the contractors that build and make repairs to our rooms so well, it would much harder to attract guests to Grangeville as a nice place to stop over for the night.

We’re very proud of the legacy we’ve built in the region of Central Idaho and thank our customers and our community for their support.
